New Board Member Appointed

Governor Roy Cooper has appointed Catherine C. Morrison, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, NCARB, to the Board of Architecture.  Her experience includes land use planning, utilization analysis, renovation and expansion projects as well as new construction and medical office buildings.

Morrison is an active member of the community, honored in Charlotte Business Journal’s 40 under 40. She has served on the Board of Directors for AIA Charlotte, AIA North Carolina and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. She is also passionate about cities and has collaborated with the Arts and Science Council, is a graduate of the Community Building Initiative’s Leadership Development Initiative and was a member of the Knight Foundation’s Creative Communities Initiative. Morrison’s design ethos is informed by her passion for creative communities and she believes that all things can be more than the intended use when designed well.

Morrison earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Maryland and a Master of Architecture and Master of Arts in Geography – Community Planning from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
